Rob Cross Conquers America – Sunday, saw Rob Cross win the US Darts Masters. Let me take you through how he got there. Cross swept aside Adam Seveda 6 legs to 1 in his opening match. This set up a tie between him and Michael Van Gerwen in the quarter finals. The First leg of this match was one for the history books. The crowd in New York were treated to four 180s on the bounce. MVG and Cross had a laugh and a fist pump after an unbelievable start to their quarter final. Van Gerwen went on to wrap up the leg in 13 darts taking a 1-0 lead. After Michael made it 2 legs to 0, Rob then went on a dominant run winning the next four legs to go 4-2 up. Cross went on to win the match 6-4 hitting his favourite double 18 to see him progress into the semi finals.

Rob Cross Conquers America – Semi Final
Things weren’t going to get any easier for Cross, next up he faced the World Champion Luke Humphries for a place in the final. Rob was running away with it, he found himself 4-0 up only three legs away from victory. However you should never count the champion of the world out. Humphries fought back and went one leg away from Cross when he took out 136. Humphries then held his throw to level the game at five legs a piece. Cross kept his cool to win a cracker of a game 7-5. You could see the emotion from Cross when he hit double eight to see him go through to the final.

Rob Cross Conquers America – Final
In the final it was England v Wales, Cross v Price. The way these two were playing it promised to be a great match. Price started the better, bursting into a 2-0 lead. However Rob responded brilliantly winning the next two legs to make the game 2-2. Price went on to win the next two legs moving into a 4-2 lead. Then the seventh leg saw Price squander three darts at a double which allowed Rob the chance to hit double four to close the gap to 4-3. After the break, Gerwyn took out 164. This got the crowd on their feet and put Price 5-3 up. After hanging on in their all match, Rob started to make the game swing in his favour. He won two legs on the bounce to level the game 6-6. Both the players held their throw in the next two legs. This meant the game went down to a last leg decider. It couldn’t have been a tighter last leg, both players had goes at taking out 100. After the pair of them failed to, Cross stepped up and pinned double 18 to become the US Darts Masters Champion. Remarkably he was only ahead of Price once in the Final and that was when he won the game 8-7.
