So here we go, here are the line-ups for the next blockbuster in the 2024 Premier League Darts.

Premier League Belfast – Quarter Final Line Ups

Here’s our preview of the Quarter Finals

Humphries v Littler

We will preview some mouthwatering matchups in the Premier League Darts in Belfast on Thursday. Starting off with Humphries v Littler, a repeat of the World Championship Final where Humphries came out on top, winning 7 sets to 4. The last time these two met in the Premier League was in Cardiff on night one. This saw Littler win comfortably, beating Humphries 6-2. At this moment in time, I think no one can stop Luke Humphries!

Littler-Humphries

After his win last Thursday in Dublin, this made it three nights in a row so he’s come out on top. He’s one away from doing 4, which has never been done before! Littler will be disappointed last week. He failed to get any points on the board for just the second time. I can see Humphries winning this and I think most people would back him at this moment in time.

Smith v Van Gerwen

The second matchup of the evening is Smith v Van Gerwen. A repeat of a World Championship final, where Michael Smith came out on top, winning 7 sets to 4 to become World Champion for the first time. Van Gerwen is in a poor run of form at the moment! He had a brilliant start to the Premier League Of Darts. He won three nights in a row, but failed to pick up points in his last four nights. Each time getting knocked out in the quarter finals.

Van Gerwen is now down to second, 7 points off top of the table Luke Humphries. Smith has crept into the top four after getting to the final in Dublin. He then lost 6-2 to Luke Humphries. I believe Van Gerwen will win this match as he has a point to prove and must start accumulating points. If not, he might face a tough battle to secure a spot in the playoffs by May.

Aspinall v Price

Next up is Aspinall v Price and this should be a great match, a real fiery affair, as both players aren’t afraid to give it some. Both players reached the Semi finals in Dublin last Thursday. After a shaky start to his Premier League campaign, Nathan Aspinall now seems to be playing with so much freedom.

Premier League Darts Nine Darter

He now finds himself in the top four on 13 points, level with Smith and Littler so it’s still all to play for. Price needed that win last week against Van Gerwen to keep himself in the hunt for the playoffs. He currently sits on 7 points, 5 points off the play off places. He will be looking to close the gap in Belfast this Thursday. Gerwen Price is still the last player to hit a nine darter in the Premier League when he hit two in one night back in 2020 at the SSE Arena Belfast. We will all be hoping history can repeat itself on Thursday! Saying that, I am going to swing towards an Aspinall win. I think you can see he’s enjoying his darts at the moment! He seems very relaxed, therefore I think he will get over the line in this game.

Cross v Wright

The last quarter final is Cross v Wright. Peter Wright still sits bottom of the league with only 2 points to his name. If he is to have any chance of making it to the playoffs, he needs to start winning games now. Peter Wright had a solid game last weekend against Luke Humphries. Even though he lost 6-1, he played some good darts at times but Humphries was ruthless.

Rob Cross Premier League Darts

Humphries outmatched Wright, despite Wright averaging 97.72. Aspinall knocked out Rob Cross in the last two quarter-finals with both games finishing 6-5 to Aspinall. This has caused Cross to drop into 6th place on 11 points, only two points off the playoff places. In the past few weeks, Cross seems to have been unlucky. Despite losing to Aspinall in both games, he maintained an average of over 100. If he continues performing at this level, he will start accumulating points and climbing back into the playoff positions. I predict that Rob Cross will comfortably win this game and secure a spot in the semi-finals in Belfast as his form has been consistent throughout the year.

Our prediction for how the Premier League Darts in Belfast will unfold

I think this will be a brilliant night of darts and hopefully they give us a nine darter to celebrate. I think Cross is on the easier side of the draw, which is why I can see him getting to the final. The other side is very tough to predict but I have to go with a Humphries v Cross final. If the last time these two met in the Premier League is anything to go by, we will all be in for a treat!

Luke Humphries Premier League Darts

Rob Cross averaged 108.00, hitting 6 maximums but Humphries still won 6-3 averaging a whopping 113.71. If I had to say, I would go with Luke Humphries winning the Premier League Of Darts in Belfast and making it four wins in a row, something that has never been done before!
