Littler Wins Premier League – The Nine Darts Leg
Luke Littler was playing against Luke Humphries in the Final at the O2 Arena and at the first break the score was level at five legs a piece. Littler went off stage at the break, he later explained that he just went to use the toilet! He should go to the toilet more often, because he came out a different animal. The following nine darts after he came out from the break were all perfect. It was an unbelievable moment and as I said before, he joins Phil Taylor in the, only players to hit a nine darter in a Premier League final. The crowd went wild! I haven’t seen scenes at a dart match like that in a long time, the O2 Arena was rocking. As we’ve seen so many times in this year’s campaign, all the players get on so well. Humphries gave him a big hug and gave him huge congratulations.

Littler Wins Premier League – The Premier League of Darts 2024 Final
Both Luke Littler and Luke Humphries breezed past Smith and Van Gerwen, with the pair of them winning 10-5 to go through to the final. This was the final that everyone wanted, a repeat of the World Championship final, Luke v Luke. You could feel the excitement in the crowd when both players walked out. Littler took an early 2-0 lead, then Humphries quickly pulled that back to 2-2. From there it was back and forth, both players looked a bit nervous and did not want to make a mistake. In the eighth leg, the game was 4-3 and Littler was sat on 20 to break throw. Then up stepped Humphries to take out 116. The game was level at the break with both players winning five legs each.

Out of stock
Littler came out all guns blazing and fired in the perfect leg. As Mardle said in commentary, this can sometimes help the other player, as Littler could lose a bit of focus after it. However, this did not happen, Littler broke Humphries’s throw in the next leg, to make it seven legs to five. Just shows how mature and focused he is at such a young age. Littler kept firing in 180s and broke the record for the amount of 180s hit in a Premier League campaign. Fair play to Humphries, he kept fighting and in the 16th leg he took out 134, finishing with two double tops. This made the game 9-7. Littler wasn’t bothered by this and kept his cool, winning the next two legs to become the 2024 Premier League Champion. You could see the emotion in Littler’s face as he ran over to his family and his girlfriend to celebrate. Humphries showed great sportsmanship to congratulate him and told him to go and celebrate. Littler lifted the trophy in front of a packed out O2 Arena, what a moment for the 17 year old. I’m sure it’s the first of many majors he will win in the future. See the stats from both semi finals and the final below.
