Littler wins Grand Slam – Sunday night saw Luke “The Nuke” Littler be crowned the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts Champion. This is his first TV ranking title, bringing him up to number 5 in the world. Littler was in a group with Keane Barry, Dimitri Van Den Berg and Lourence Ilagan. He whitewashed Barry, beating him 5-0, then went on to beat Dimi 5-1 and Ilagan 5-3. This meant Luke picked up maximum points in the group stage, and therefore qualified for the round of 16 top of the group.
Littler wins Grand Slam – Round of 16
Littler came up against newly crowned World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker in the last 16. This game started off fantastically, both players firing in big scores and putting on a show for the crowd. However it was De Decker who went into the second break 6-4 ahead of Luke. Mike then broke Littlers throw by taking out 110, which put him 7-4 up, in a great position to go and win the match. Then the game changed. De Decker missed six darts at double to go 9-5 up, which then let Littler knick the leg to pull the game back to 8-6. This was the turning point in the game, as Luke Littler went on to win the match ten legs to nine to book himself a spot in the Grand Slam of Darts Quarter Finals. See match stats below.

In the Quarter FInals, Luke then faced Jermaine Wattimena, who is in the form of his life at the minute. Littler started off on fire, in the second leg he missed double 12 for the perfect leg. However this did not effect Littler, as he went into the first break 4-1 up after hitting seven 180s in those first five legs. Then straight after the break Littler decided to put on a show for the crowd. He took out 167 after taking a break and debating whether to go for the bull. After this it was just more domination from Littler. The teenage sensation went on to win the game 16-2, to comfortably secure his spot in the Grand Slam of Darts Semi Finals. See match stats below.

Littler wins Grand Slam – Semi Final
Next up for Littler it was a Semi Final matchup against Gary Anderson, who has started to roll back the years in recent months. The first ten legs were breathtaking, so many big scores and big finishes. Littler won the tenth leg, taking out 124 to go into the second break 6-4 up. Anderson managed to get the game back to 7-6 with a brilliant 164 checkout, this match was really living up to its expectations. Then just two legs later Gary hit another massive checkout. He took care off 142, to put himself 8-7 against Luke, going into the third break. Anderson continued to play incredible darts and created a four leg gap between him and Littler, with the score being 11-7 to Anderson. Now the 27th leg saw something special happen. Anderson hit three bullseyes in one visit in the middle of the leg. The crowd absolutely loved it, however Littler went on to wrap up the leg to put himself one away from Anderson, the score being 14-13 in a race to sixteen. The standard of darts was out of this world for how much pressure these two were under. THe game went all the way to a last leg decider, Luke started it off with a 180. Anderson kept himself in it by hitting two, two treble visits in a row. It was Luke Littler who managed to pin double 12 to win an absolute classic, what a treat it was for that crowd in Wolverhampton. See match stats below.

Martin Lukeman was the opponent for Luke Littler, in the Final of the Grand Slam of Darts. Lukeman couldn’t have started the final any better. He won his first two legs and looked to have settled into the game niceley. That was until Luke decided to throw darts that no player on the planet could deal with. He won fifteen legs in a row which put him 15-2 up against Martin. It was dominance like we’ve never seen in a major Final, averaging 107, he gave Lukeman no chance. However there was a nice moment in the eighteenth leg. As Lukeman finally won a leg, the whole crowd cheered and both players shared a laugh. Great sportsmanship from Martin who can see the funny side to it. Littler went on to win the game 16-3 and become the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts Champion, with one of the best Major winning campaigns we have ever seen. See match stats below.
