Littler wins Cheshire Open

Littler wins Cheshire Open – Following Littler’s first round exit, he decided to go down a few levels, and enter the Cheshire open at The Coppenhall Club Crewe. The tournament was a twenty pound entry, which I presume Littler had no trouble paying! Littler obviously won the men’s singles title, taking home £1,000. The competition was a short format with most of the games being a, best of nine leg format, until it got to the Semi Finals and Final, which were best of 11 legs. Littler also won the warm up men’s event and said after that, “It was good to see all my fellow teammates from Cheshire”. I can only guess that Luke entered this just to get a bit of practice and confidence back after his early exit in the World Matchplay.

Luke Littler also made a 14 year old boy’s day, when he met him at the weekend. Raymond Leese started his own business earlier this year. He said that the rise of Luke Littler and the rise of darts made up his mind to do so. Raymond met Littler when he played in the Cheshire open alongside him. He got a photo with him and shook his hand. Raymond said, “I was shocked and extremely happy that he already knew about my shop”.
