Littler denies Humphries a four in a row! Luke “The Nuke” Littler won his first night of this Premier League campaign after beating Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in the final.
Belfast was treated to a cracking game to kick the night off. It was a repeat of the world championship final. Littler came up against the Champion of the World, Luke Humphries. The game went all the way to a deciding leg, which Littler won, checking out 68!
The game finished 6-5 with Littler progressing through to the semi-finals. You could see how much it meant to him after he pinned the double ten! Luke averaged 102.00, throwing seven 180s in just 11 legs of darts. The teenage sensation, as we’ve seen him do before on a few occasions, added a little pause to his throw.
This obviously worked for him this time. He went on to win the night and go second in the league. He closed the gap on Humprhies to four points.

The second match of the night was a brilliant game! Smith and Van Gerwen battled it out, with Van Gerwen coming out on top.
He came back from 4-2 down, to win four legs in a row and win 6-4, progressing into the semi-finals. Both players averaged over 100, with Michael averaging 105 and Smith 101.
It was a mixed bag for Van Gerwen on the doubles as he missed four darts at a double to make it 3-3. Smith then capitalized to make it 4-2. However, in the next leg, Van Gerwen wasn’t messing around on the doubles as he took out 144 to pull it back to 4-3 and kickstart his comeback.
Aspinal beat Gerwen Price 6-5 in a last leg decider to make it to the semi-finals and Peter Wright picked up points in the Premier League for just the second time this campaign, as he beat Rob Cross 6-3.

Luke Littler denies Humphries four in a row – semi-final
Both of the semi-finals did not live up to expectation in terms of averages, as everyone, apart from Littler, averaged below 95.
That did not stop the 9,000 people in Belfast from enjoying themselves though, as they belted out ‘Mr Brightside’, when Nathan came out. In the first semi-final, Luke beat Michael 6-3 in a controlled performance.
He dominated the scoring against Van Gerwen, averaging just below 100 compared to Michaels 94. Littler has now won back to back games against Van Gerwen and is starting to edge it in this new rivalry, that I’m sure will go on for years to come! Wayne Mardle said in commentary that, “this means alot” speaking on this new rivalry between these two.
You could see the tension in Van Gerwen’s throw and how much it meant to Luke when he won the game.
In the second Semi Final Aspinall only needed to average 93 to comfortably sweep aside Peter Wright beating him 6-2.

Luke Littler denies Humphries four in a row – the final
Onto the final, and this was a fiery matchup between the teenage sensation Luke Littler and Nathan Aspinall, who is in good form.
With both players being very passionate dart players, it was bound to be a cracker! Aspinall was 3-1 up against Littler, not really giving him a chance. However, Luke came back to win 6-4 in a great game. In the 6th leg, the Belfast crowd got their money’s worth. Littler took out 125 by going Bull, Twenty Five, Bull.
Unlike the crowd and even Aspinall, as he smiled and shook Luke’s hand, there was no reaction from Littler, as he knew he still had a job to do!
This certainly was turning point in the game that gave Littler the lift he needed to go on and win his first night in the Premier League. That now puts him second in the table, one point ahead of Michael Van Gerwen.
A first Night Win for the teenage sensation 🔥
