Off the back of his Premier league win in Leeds, Luke Humphries ‘Strikes Perfection’ by hitting a nine darter in the final of the Neo.Bet Baltic Sea Darts Open. However, the day before this, Humphries was one dart away from a nine dart leg. He came up against Sebastian Bialecki in the second round. Luke put in a great attempt but just missed the double 12. The crowd, although disappointed, showed their appreciation to Humphries after he collected his darts from the board. The German crowd reacted very differently to how the English crowd normally react to a missed nine darter.

Humphries Strikes Perfection
Humphries had been playing great darts all weekend, clearly full of confidence after his win in Leeds. He knocked out players like Michael Van Gerwen and Danny Noppert on his way through to the final. In the final he came up against “Voltage” Rob Cross and this is where the magic happened. Luke was 4-3 up in the match and Rob had the darts, to try and make it 4-4. He stood no chance though, because Humphries didn’t put a foot wrong. The World Champ went 180, 180 then finished on 141, unlike on Saturday, hitting the double 12 to complete the perfect leg. The crowd went wild as Humphries turned around to celebrate with them. There was a show of respect from Cross as he recognised how good that was from Humphries. I got the sense that the crowd almost felt like it was going to happen, the form and confidence Luke was showing meant the nine darter always seemed possible all weekend. Then on Sunday it finally happened!
