BetMGM Premier League Darts Dublin Night 8

The BetMGM Premier League Darts Dublin tournament takes place on 21st March 2024.

The blockbuster roadshow event see’s the world’s biggest stars battling it out for the coveted title and £1,000,000 in prize money, for that reason it holds a special place in the darts calendar.

All you need to know

The Premier League Darts is one of the biggest tournaments on the PDC’s calendar.

It originally started off in 2005 as just a tour around the UK. There have been many developments and rules changes, consequently the tournaments you are watching today are cross continental events with some nights being staged in Germany and the Netherlands. 

Premier League Darts tournament rules

From 2022, Premier League Darts uses an eight-player nightly knockout bracket format in an attempt to make every match count. All things considered this makes this tournament one of the most entertaining on the calendar.

At the start of the night, four quarter-finals feature eight players competing. Accordingly, semi-finals and final follow and all matches consist of the best of 11 legs.

How each player performs each night earns them points, and as a result determines their place on the Premier League table. The league table consequently determines the finals matches and the tournament winner.

The points system is as follows. 

• Winner: 5 points
• Runner-up: 3 points
• Two losing semi-finalists: 2 points

The top four players at the end of the quarter-finals advance to the playoffs. The playoffs consist of two semi-finals and the final. 

Another key point is that on the final night the semi-finals are played over 19 legs and the final played over 21 legs.
