Consolation Cup Quarter Finals – On Thursday we went to support the Prince of Wales in their Quarter Final match of the Consolation Cup. It was against the Mytton Arms. This was an away game for the Prince of Wales, so it was a bit of a journey for them. It was a great little pub, however, the view of the dartboard wasn’t the best, as you can see from the photo.
Consolation Cup Quarter Finals – The Match
The Prince of Wales started strong with big scores and some great finishes. They won the first two games 2-1. The Mytton Arms then responded with back to back 2-0 wins. This left the game level at two legs a piece, in a best of 7 format.
The following matches couldn’t have been any tighter. The first one went to the Mytton Arms, as they won the match 2-1. The Prince of Wales knew they had to win the next game otherwise they would be knocked out of the Consolation Cup.
You could feel the tension in the room as the penultimate game got underway. The Prince of Wales kept their nerve and won the game 2-1. This took the game to 3-3, with everything lying on the last match. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be for the Prince of Wales, as they lost the last match 2-1. However, it was a great evening and we look forward to seeing how they get on in the league.
